Kaz George is a phenomenal musician embracing all styles of music and playing tenor saxophone seemingly with ease. Warming up on Bach, performing music from Beatles to Bob Marley, and writing more than adventurous compositions of his own, Kaz George is now a force on the NYC jazz scene. Visit Ruth on Flatbush on Mondays to hear him play accompanied by the world’s finest musicians. Jam session follows the set.
Diego Voglino is an incredibly creative and supportive drummer. Being the host of the Tuesday night jam session at Bar Bayeux for several years now, he has invited myriad special guests such as Adam Kolker and Stacy Dillard on saxophones. Diego does it all from choosing repertoire, bandleading, and even bringing his signature rice and bean dish with brownies to share as a free treat for those who show up. This is quintessential NY flavor and Tuesdays at Bar Bayeux make you feel like you’ve finally made it ‘home’. Check out Diego each Tuesday!
You may have heard her with bassist Harvie S, you may have seen her in Amsterdam or Tel Aviv or on stage at the Jazz Forum and other prestigious stages…but you can see the marvelous Tamuz Nissim in the Bronx each Sunday supported by an all-star cast of musicians each week. Don’t miss the chance to hang and finish off the weekend with some good food and great music in one of our favorite hangouts, the Bronx Burger. While you’re at it, pick up her latest album!
An increasingly notable bandleader in her own right, Casado leads her working quintet, with recent performances at North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, NYC Winter Jazz Fest, and more. You don’t have to travel across the world to see her in a stadium though…Roll up to Bar Bayeux, one of our favorite haunts, for a special performance sponsored by KEYED UP!. Thank us later :)
