As an effort to safely revive the New York music scene after the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rise Up Brooklyn! festival presents seven unique performances by artists whose work is a catalyst for social change, ranging from cutting edge Jazz to a fresh take on Afrobeat.
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with performances cancelled and venues closed indefinitely, Rise Up Brooklyn! offers unique concerts designed to help revive the New York music scene by creating paid opportunities for professional artists and bringing the joy of high quality concerts live-streamed from Brooklyn to audiences anywhere in the world.
Today, more than ever, artists have a central role to embrace in order be the catalysts for social changes. Rise Up Brooklyn! aims at facilitating this reflection and being a platform for artists to share their social engagement.
50% of the festival’s profit will be will donated to GrassRoots Law Project, a non profit organization that combines grassroots organizing with legal expertise to radically transform policing and justice in America.
Rise Up Brooklyn will be broadcast from FIRSTLIVE!, an internet broadcasting studio with high quality audio and visual recording capabilities. The venue is equipped with 5 HD cameras, full audio and instrument backline. The performances will be broadcast through Crowdcast, a live video platform for creators.
