We at Jazz Generation support and empower the next generation of musicians and audience members. David O’Rourke instructs this ensemble that has been crucial to the musical upbringing for such young lions as Davis Whitfield, Evan Sherman, Emilio Modeste, and myriad more. Our JSYO learns new techniques and rehearses for the first couple of hours, takes a short break, and then puts on a performance every other week at our partner venue and non-profit Ornithology Jazz Cafe. Don’t let their age fool you…some of these kids are tomorrow’s stars and are VERY swinging!
